Virgil Van Dijk’s incredible tenure at Liverpool

The defender has been a revelation at the club with many, in his short tenure, already regarding him as one of the best defenders in Premier League history. His performances saw him lift the Champions League and the Premier League with Liverpool picking up several individual accolades along the way. For many other great players in the past, if it were not for Lionel Messi, the Dutchman would have won the Ballon d’Or in 2019 missing out by only 7 points.

The player will go down in Premier League history for his dominant display in defense. Good on the ball, smart off of it Virgil Van Dijk personified what a modern defender should be and took it to new heights.
