Brazilian talent, Vitor Roque is all set to travel to Spain to join Barcelona within the next 24 hours. The plan was confirmed by Barcelona officials, as manager Xavi anticipates the 18-year-old winger to significantly enhance the team amid their La Liga struggles.
The talented Brazilian winger, who is nicknamed ‘El Tigrinho’ which means ‘the little tiger’ for his stout figure and good strength, was signed by the Catalan giants on a long-term deal until the 2030-31 season with a release clause of €500 million. The former Atletico Paranaense forward concluded his last Brazilian Serie A match against Santos in early December before his planned move to Spain. With 25 appearances this year, he scored 12 goals and delivered 3 assists for the Brazilian club.
After his last game, the club said the winger was leaving. Recent reports say he’ll be in Barcelona on December 27, training with the team until the new year. Fans can see Vitor Roque for the first time at the open training on December 28 at Estadio Johan Cruyff. His official presentation is on January 3, and he might debut against Las Palmas on January 4.
‘El Tigrinho’ would have to hit the ground running at once, to provide support for the misfiring Catalan attack. Further, he will also add to the out-of-form Robert Lewandowski and fill in for the injured midfielder, Gavi.
Xavi compares Brazilian starlets Roque and Endrick to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo
Barcelona manager Xavi, anticipating Vitor Roque’s arrival at Camp Nou, drew a bold parallel between the Brazilian talent and Real Madrid-bound Endrick, likening their rivalry to the legendary duel of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The Spaniard believes that the two young players can reach the levels of Messi and Ronaldo, creating a historic rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid. The Brazilian stars have shone in their league this season before joining their new clubs. Their standout performances have caught attention, and they’re expected to become club icons. Additionally, their impressive season earned them a call-up to the Brazil national team.
