After Morocco delivered one of the biggest upsets of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in their 2-0 victory over European giants Belgium, Achraf Hakimi was seen having an emotional moment with his mother. The PSG fullback went straight to his mother sitting in the stands after the full-time whistle and got her blessings.
Achraf Hakimi took off his match shirt which was delightedly taken by his mother. The mother and son continued celebrating their country’s massive win against Kevin De Bruyne’s Belgium, in what was supposed to be a walk in the park for the Belgians.
An emotion-filled Hakimi couldn’t hold his smile as he hugged and kissed his mother ahead of their astonishing performance at the Al Thumama stadium. Although the European side dominated the game with more possession, they were unable to break Morocco‘s defense.
Achraf Hakimi had a great game at the Qatar FIFA World Cup as he was efficient at both ends of the field. The fullback was seen everywhere on the pitch and had an influential match before he was taken off. Two late goals from Sabiri and Aboukhlal helped the African country seal their first win in the competition.

The African nation stunned Belgium to clench all 3 points from the European heavyweights. Belgium stands at number 2 in the FIFA rankings of the world.
