WATCH- When new Chelsea signing Kalidou Koulibaly pushed his teammate deliberately to defend against Kylian Mbappe in the Champions League
Kalidou Koulibaly
Kalidou Koulibaly has established himself as one of the best defenders in Europe over the last decade. The 31-year-old is a leader on the pitch and a great leader of the game, let alone his amazing tackling and defensive capabilities.
This is precisely why Chelsea has signed the player for a fee of €40 million including add-ons and is paying the Senegalese a whopping €10 million/year salary.
However, the player is not without some antics on the pitch. In a Champions League group stage game against PSG in 2018, the player was seen his pushing his teammate on the pitch to follow Kylian Mbappe and close down space for the forward.

Kalidou Koulibaly becomes Chelsea’s 3rd signing of the summer
Chelsea has already lost Antonio Rudiger and Andres Christensen on a free transfer this summer. They could also lose Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpelicueta to Barcelona later.
Hence, Thomas Tuchel has wasted no time in bringing in reinforcements to the squad. The Blues made first contact with Koulibaly in June 28 as reported by Fabrizio Romano and has confirmed the signing of the player today.
The club are also set to begin talks with Manchester City soon to sign Dutch defender Nathan Ake after signing Raheem Sterling from the Ethiad earlier this week. However, it won’t be easy as Man City aren’t ready to negotiate for the player.
Since joining Napoli back in 2014 for just €8 million, Kalidou Koulibaly has been an absolute defensive rock for the Naples side. The player has made 317 appearances since joining, winning the Coppa Italia and Super Coppa Italiana in his time in Italy.
