Casemiro and his daughter
On Monday, Casemiro said goodbye to Real Madrid after eight seasons, and the club paid him an homage. After accepting a dizzying financial offer, the Brazilian midfielder is moving on to Manchester United and will leave the club’s coffers with a fixed 70 million euros plus an additional 15 million euros in potential variables.
His daughter wept at the farewell address as well. As her father was saying goodbye, she started crying because she was glum. He expressed his gratitude and excitement for being a member of the historic team that won five Champions Leagues between 2014 and 2022 in his social media message.
The club and his teammates have both recently expressed their love for him, and on Monday, a video of his best moments caused him to break down and sob with his family. The fans will be hopeful that Casemiro can change their luck when he makes his debut against Southampton at St. Mary’s stadium next Saturday if he is in the squad and available.
In response to Casemiro’s signing, Ten Hag:

Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, spoke when the club officially announced Casemiro’s signing. The Brazilian finalized his deal from Real Madrid on Monday, and ten minutes before kickoff against Liverpool, he was led around the Old Trafford field while being greeted by United icon Roy Keane. The five-time Champions League champion has signed a deal through June 2026 with the option to extend for an additional year, but his transfer is still pending approval of his UK visa.
The 30-year-old is welcomed with open arms by the Dutchman, who believes having him in the middle of the field would improve team chemistry. “He is the cement between the stones, that is what we have been looking for in the summer and found him,” Ten Hag told sources. Ten Hag will be eager to use him as soon as possible because the Reds’ next away game is on Saturday against Southampton.
