David Beckham seems really close to Lionel Messi and his family. The Inter Milan co-owner was seen hugging Messi’s mother during the Atlanta United vs Inter Miami match on Wednesday. Beckham was seen chatting with her as her son played and dominated the match.
David Beckham walked towards Messi’s mother, Celia Maria Cuccittini in the stands. He proceeded to hug the lady and then were seen exchanging pleasantries. Maria was seen holding Lionel’s jersey in her hand as the two conversed.
In the background, loud music played as Miami continued to demolish Atlanta United. Lionel Messi scored a brace and assisted another goal as Miami emerged with a 4-0 victory. The Argentine also celebrated one of his goals by hugging his entire family including his mother, Maria.
Messi has turned around the fortunes of this Inter Miami team. He alongside Sergio Busquets has transformed the team into a dangerous one. This has resulted in Miami winning both of their games. This comes after the team went 2 months without a win. Messi and Co. next face Charlotte FC in the MLS.

Lionel Messi starred for Inter Miami as they beat Atlanta United 4-0 in the Leagues Cup. Messi scored two goals and assisted another one. He celebrated with a gesture pointing towards David Beckham after scoring a goal. Miami are now favorites for the Leagues Cup title.
Messi extended his hand during the celebration to Beckham, who was on the sidelines applauding. Messi and Beckham were seen grinning as they stared at one another during the celebration, which has been described as a “hold my beer” gesture. This celebration just shows Messi having a good time in Miami.
Messi was substituted in the 70th minute. The Argentine has already scored thrice for his new club in two appearances. Messi is yet to play 90 minutes of football for his club but already has a mammoth effect on and off the field for the South Beach team.
