Watch: Eden Hazard offers champagne to Toni Kroos’ during Real Madrid’s Champions League celebrations
Kroos and Hazard
Toni Kroos had to react quickly as Real Madrid colleague Eden Hazard tried to hand his son champagne during the team’s Champions League celebrations.
The celebrations were in full flow in the Spanish team’s locker room following their Champions League final victory over Liverpool. Moments before the hour mark, Vinicius Junior scored the game’s sole goal, securing the Spanish giant’s 14th Champions League championship.
The victory concluded a fantastic season for Real Madrid, which began with the club winning their 35th La Liga crown last month. Carlo Ancelotti’s team has won both domestic and European titles, so it’s no wonder that the players were ecstatic at the completion of another good season for the club.
The loud atmosphere following the match showed players ecstatic after capturing the title and making the most out of the opportunities. To celebrate, the players were dancing, singing, and drinking champagne.
Eden Hazard tried hard to make Toni Kroos’ son taste champagne
Hazard – Real Madrid’s club-record signing who did not participate in the final in Paris – is seen carrying a glass of champagne before cheekily presenting it to Kroos’ son. The Belgian winger was trying to give the German midfielder’s child a taste of the drink, but the latter was having none of it.
As the event unfolded in front of him, the Germany international felt compelled to act, blocking Hazard’s offer of a drink with his arm. Kroos was clearly displeased by the prospect of his son imbibing alcohol without his consent.
Kroos also waggled his finger at his son, indicating that he would not be permitted to drink that night. Hazard reacted with a grin that suggested he thought his teammate would intercede immediately to avoid the proposal from being accepted.
Hazard’s first Champions League gold came in Paris, but for Kroos, it was his fifth – four with Real Madrid and one with Bayern Munich in 2013. Meanwhile, Kroos, together with previous Madrid colleagues Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Casemiro, Dani Carvajal, Isco, Marcelo, and Luka Modric, won the trophy a record five times.
