Erling Haaland v Sweden

Erling Haaland scored twice against Janne Andersson’s team in a tense Nations League match on Sunday night. After the final whistle, players like Haaland and Martin Odegaard rejoiced in the locker room by dancing to DJ 11’s “Der Haaland,” a catchy tune that has gone popular on TikTok and other social networking sites.

With 69 minutes played, the soon-to-be Manchester City striker used his quickness and strength to make it 2-0 after scoring from the penalty spot.

His second goal came only seconds after Sweden’s Alexander Milosevic hurled some not-so-subtle insults at the Norwegian, but Milosevic has subsequently denied making those accusations.

After a 1-0 triumph against Serbia last week, Manchester United attacker Anthony Elanga made it 2-1 late on, but it wasn’t enough as Norway extended their perfect record in Group H.

The 21-year-old attacker then shared footage from his dressing area on Instagram, with Oasis’ iconic song Wonderwall playing in the background. Manchester City, the Premier League winners, announced Haaland’s acquisition last month after offering to pay his £64 million sell-on clauses.

Since signing for Borussia Dortmund from RB Salzburg in 2019, the 21-year-old attacker has scored 85 goals in 88 games in all competitions. He has signed a rumored five-year agreement at the Etihad for £21 million each season.

He is expected to make roughly £375,000 per week at City, putting him on par with Kevin De Bruyne as the team’s highest earner. Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak lauded Haaland’s signing once the agreement was finalized.

He told the club’s official website, “We’ve been monitoring his evolution over the years and witnessed his move from a very talented, high quality, high potential young player to one of the most, if not the most, exciting striker in the world.”

“He is a one-of-a-kind, very skilled attacker who I believe the entire world has been watching.”
