Kylian Mbappe has a stressful start to his summer as he has to decide between signing for PSG or Real Madrid. The Frenchman eventually decided to go stay in Paris and signed a bumper new deal that could potentially make him one of the highest-paid athletes on earth.

The French star since had not been seen publically after signing his new contract until yesterday when he showed up in California for a Women’s NBA game of Los Angeles Sparks vs Las Vegas Aces. The Aces won the game 79-73.

The world-Cup winner’s new contract at PSG makes him arguably the most important figure at Park de Princes, with many arguing if the youngster really deserves a contract so huge.

Kylian Mbappe’s new contract ties him down to PSG for 3 more years until June 2025 and will include a salary of €50 million/year. The contract also includes Mbappe to be involved in many other strategic decisions of the club, that include deciding the project and approving signings as well of potential new managers.

Kylian Mbappe’s presence will surely boost PSG as they once again start the new season with the aim to bring European glory to France. Last season, they were knocked out by eventual winners Real Madrid in the Round of 16.

Since his arrival, Kylian Mbappe has been PSG’s best player on the pitch. In 217 appearances, the 23-year-old has netted 171 times and assisted a further 88 times his teammates. PSG will hope that next season, he can finally link up perfectly with Neymar and Lionel Messi, and form one of the deadliest attacking trios in football.

PSG have also confirmed the appointment of a new head coach, Christophe Gialter last week. The Frenchman who led Lille to the Ligue 1 title in 2021 will aim to bring more success to PSG as well.
