Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos share a long history of rivalry playing for Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively for over 16 years. The duo faced off multiple times during the historic El Classico matches and share a long last of on-pitch arguments with each other.

When the duo joined PSG on a free transfer last season, it seemed their rivalry only stayed as far as the club they played for with the duo often complimenting each other and being on good terms all year round.

However, it seems it’s not been all fairytales between them lately. Recently, Lionel Messi appeared to have a go at Sergio Ramos when the Spaniard allegedly attempted a harsh and unnecessary tackle at the Argentine during PSG’s pre-season training.

Ramos and Lionel Messi continue to impress in pre-season for PSG

PSG have enjoyed a stellar start to their pre-season under new manager, Christophe Galtier. The Frenchman has established an organised system boasting one of the most talented and world-class squads in Europe.

The manager has reportedly introduced three strict rules to ensure that the players have the right attitude and continue to work hard at training and eventually help PSG secure European glory next season.

The most important being that the players cannot be late for training at any cost. The other rules include not using your mobile phones during team lunch and dinner and also having these meals together as a squad to improve morale and squad togetherness.

However, despite the attempts to bring the players together, it seems two superstar players Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos were more concerned to prove themselves right and play the game they’ve always been playing.

Earlier in the preseason, Lionel Messi had allowed Sergio Ramos to take a penalty kick that he won during their first preseason game. However, since then, the two player’s relationship might have been strained ever since their training ground bust-up.
