Lionel Messi was all smiles after Inter Miami win the Leagues Cup. The Argentine celebrated with the owner, David Beckham, and his wife Victoria Beckham, as he shared a hug with the couple, celebrating their success.
Inter Miami beat Nashville 1(10)-1(9) on penalties. Messi scored in trademark fashion. After he hit an incredible goal with his left foot, in the top bins. His 10th goal for the club, this win means Lionel Messi is the most decorated player of all time. Now, with 44 trophies to his name, how many trophies can the Argentine secure before he calls it a day? At this rate, he still must have more left in the bank.
His time at Inter Miami has been one to enjoy. Further, fans are quick to notice a smile on his face, one that was missing in France. It’s not a secret that Messi’s time at PSG is one he wishes never happened. Booed by the fans plenty of times, it was clear Messi was at a place where he was not truly appreciated. The front line of Mbappe, Messi, and Neymar was supposed to strike fear in the hearts of European teams. However, back-to-back eliminations in the UCL said otherwise.
A trophy, fans that cheer his name, and an owner that loves him. Lionel Messi’s post-European career must be a fever dream. But, he is yet to play a single game in the MLS, will Messi replicate his form? Or will the burden of Inter Miami’s current standing prove too difficult for their new No.10? Fans do not seem to be bothered about that.

Inter Miami’s season so far

Meanwhile, they are currently sitting at 15th. Tata Martino‘s men have a lot of work to do. David Beckham will be hoping that Inter Miami’s Leagues Cup success will motivate the players for a tough rest of the season.
Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba have made an instant impact at the club as they remain undefeated since the trio’s arrival. With impressive performances by former Barcelona players, Tata Martino will hope that the 3 can lead the team to the MLS Playoff spot. The addition of these 3 players has already impacted the teammates as well with many of them playing their best football this season.
With only 12 games left for the Miami side, 12 points behind current 9th place D.C United, can Lionel Messi be the man that changes Inter Miami’s season? The fairytale start for the Argentine gives fans no doubt.
