On Tuesday, Manchester City was charged with more than 100 financial violations. When City played Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium today, the supporters finally broke their silence on the issue and reacted to the financial charges. Interestingly, some of the fans in the stadium booed the Premier League anthem, showing their protest as it was the Premier League only that conducted the investigation of City’s financial deals and records.
The Premier League anthem is now being jeered by Manchester City supporters, who also have a long history of jeering the Champions League hymn. Additionally, they offered Pep Guardiola, their manager, all their support. City has been accused of several violations, including providing false financial information, financial fair play, and many more.
After that, Manchester City published a statement on its social media channels: “The Club welcomes the review of this matter by an independent Commission to impartially consider the comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence that supports its position. As such, we look forward to this matter being put to rest once and for all.” In the most recent press conference, Pep Guardiola passionately defended his club.
