A video of suspended striker Mason Greenwood has surfaced on Twitter. He is seen training as speculation lies around his return to Manchester United this season. The player was suspended after audio clips, and photos emerged of him trying to assault and physically harm his girlfriend, Harriett Robson, sexually. This happened in 2022, and he has been out of action.
He has missed one and a half seasons due to this. Recently, all charges against him were dropped by the court before he could appear in front of the judge. The reason for this is speculated to be his having a child with Robson, which has resulted in a massive dilemma for the club. While the charges against him were dropped, he never proved his innocence in court.
Bringing him back could mean a loss in sponsorship and money. This is even without getting into the morality of the situation. A few months back, the club announced they would investigate the matter independently before deciding. The result of this is expected soon as they have recently concluded the proceedings.
Since then, Greenwood has been training individually. However, the clip will not excite anybody. The player, known to be one of the best finishers in the league at a very young age, showed no signs of that. He struggled to put the ball in the net, hitting it straight to the keeper multiple times. His goalscoring instinct seems to have left him. If he wants to return and restart his career, the player might have to train harder.

But he is in an uncomfortable situation, as he was never proven innocent in the court, but the players are ready to support him through and through. The academy graduates, who have known Greenwood since childhood, feel a sense of loyalty toward him.
They believe that he has turned his life around, and thus according to his teammates, he deserves a second chance. A decision is still not taken by the club. However, they are expected to announce his future before the start of the Premier League.
