WATCH: PSG star Lionel Messi shows an act of kindness by taking selfie with young fan after he was halted by security
Lionel Messi was at or near his peak in Paris Saint-Germain’s first game of the 2022/23 season. Last Sunday evening, Christophe Galtier’s team faced Nantes in the Trophee des Champions, and it was a lopsided affair. PSG won 4-0 at the Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv, with Messi scoring the game’s opening goal.
Despite the fact that his partner-in-crime Neymar scored a brace, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner was virtually unplayable throughout the victory over Nantes. After a fairly average debut season, we could see the best of Messi in a PSG shirt on a consistent basis, which is a frightening prospect for the rest of Europe.
In addition to delivering on the field last Sunday night, the 35-year-old displayed a touch of class after receiving his winner’s medal. A young fan attempted to take a picture with the global icon but was stopped by the security team surrounding Messi. When Messi realised what was going on, he quickly intervened and fulfilled the fan’s dream by taking a selfie with him.
A simple act of kindness that provided the young fan with an experience he will never forget. Messi and the rest of PSG’s star-studded squad will now turn their attention to their 2022/23 Ligue 1 campaign, which begins on Saturday with a trip to Clermont Foot.

Trophee des Champions: PSG vs Nantes as it happened
After a comfortable victory over Nantes in Sunday’s Trophee des Champions, Paris Saint-Germain has won the first domestic silverware of the season in France.
Lionel Messi scored midway through the first half in Tel Aviv after latching onto a delightful Neymar through ball and rounding the goalkeeper. In first-half stoppage time, Neymar doubled PSG’s lead by striking a beautiful free-kick past goalkeeper Albin Lafont and into the top corner.
Sergio Ramos made it 3-0 just before the hour mark, tucking away a goalmouth scramble with a cool back-heel. Nantes were reduced to ten men after Jean-Charles Castelletto tripped Neymar, resulting in an obvious penalty and red card. The Brazilian stepped up and scored 4-0 from the penalty spot. Christophe Galtier receives his first trophy as PSG manager, and he hopes it is the first of many.
