Real Madrid strikes the first blow in Paris as Vinicius Junior slots home the finish. That’s totally against the run of play. Real 1-0 Liverpool. The ball was well within Real Madrid’s final third with a good interchange between Modric and Carvajal which has Robertson out of shape and the pass goes to Federico Valverde.

Valverde was found in the space on the right. He cut inside, unchallenged the whole way, and drove a low cross-shot that was turned in from close range by Vincius Jr. It’s really close to offside, but the goal stands.

Liverpool’s defense is caught napping with they being more focused on Benzema which meant Vinicius Junior was unmarked within 5 yards of Liverpool’s goal and could not miss.

Liverpool had no answer against Courtois who was standing like a wall on the goal post. He has been one of Real Madrid’s best performers since season alongside Benzema and Vinicius has made his mark in the Final as well.

Vinicius has opened the scoring at 62 minutes with the score bringing 1-0 to Real Madrid and eventually won by the same margin.
