WATCH: Sadio Mane presents a class act as he consoles Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy after winning the FA Cup with Liverpool

Mane vs Mendy
Sadio Mane, who is known for his humility, did not miss cheering Edouard Mendy after the shootout when he comforted his Senegal colleague Mendy.
As Liverpool defeated Chelsea in the FA Cup final, Sadio Mane displayed his sportsmanship and consoled compatriot Edouard Mendy. Kostas Tsimikas was the protagonist as the Reds won the trophy in a penalty shootout, repeating their Carabao Cup final success from February. Just before that, Mane had an opportunity to win it, but Mendy outplayed the Liverpool winger to stop him from the penalty spot.

Tsimikas saved Mane’s embarrassment by stepping up and striking the decisive spot-kick shortly after the Chelsea goalie had just postponed the inevitable. Mane snubbed Liverpool’s exuberant celebrations following Tsimikas’ winning penalty, instead of approaching Mendy to hug him in what would have been a heartbreaking moment for the goalkeeper.
Later in the game, Jordan Henderson went over to console Mason Mount, who had squandered his penalty in the tiebreaker. Following the defeat, the Chelsea star bent over in sadness, making it six-finals lost at Wembley. Mane and Henderson made a classy gesture that showed the two sides had a great deal of respect for one another.
After Senegal claimed the AFCON at the beginning of the year, Mane and Mendy enjoyed unforgettable moments on the international stage, with both players coming up clutch in the penalty shootout versus Mohamed Salah’s Egypt, with Mane netting the deciding spot-kick.
After losing two cup finals against Liverpool, both in penalty shootouts, Jurgen Klopp felt sad for Chelsea. He believes that Thomas Tuchel’s side deserves the title as much as Liverpool.
