WATCH: When Barcelona created history and became the first European team to win the treble twice seven years ago

Barcelona
It was June 6th, 2015 and Barcelona were crowned Champions of Europe for the 5th time in their history. What was even more history was it also marked a feat that only Bayern Munich have been able to accomplish since then. And that is to win the historic treble for the second time in the club’s history.
First under Pep Guardiola and then under the management of Luis Enrique, Barcelona lifted the La Liga, Copa del Rey and the Coveted Champions League trophy all in one season. Later that year, Lionel Messi also created history by winning the Ballon D’or for a record 5th time. A record he himself has broken by lifting the trophy two more times since then.
Luis Suarez nets the winner in his debut season at Barcelona

At the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany, Ivan Rakitic opened the scoring in just the 4th minute, assisted by the magician, Andreas Iniesta. However, Juventus soon equalised in the second half through Alvaro Morata. However, new signing Luis Suarez shone at the biggest stage after he netted the winner to make it 2-1 to Barcelona.
A young Neymar Jr. also got on the scoresheet after he scored in the 7th minute of injury time to ensure Barcelona scored the Champions League and the treble. Andreas Iniesta was adjudged the man of the match for his stupendous performance while Lionel Messi ended up as the league’s top-scored and top assisted.
Things haven’t been the same for the Blaugrana since their achievement 7 years ago. They find themselves with European success since 2015, played the Europa League last year and are one Lionel Messi short. Under new boss, Xavi the team does seem finally settled and on their way back to the top but even Xavi will need time to get Barcelona back to being a European powerhouse.
