“We’ll be talking about him alongside Thierry Henry” – Jamie Carragher claims this Manchester City star has potential to be the best ever Premier League player

According to Jamie Carragher, Erling Haaland possesses the skills to become the best player the Premier League has ever seen.  With back-to-back hat-trick in victories against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest, Haaland has gotten off to a fast start at Manchester City, becoming the first player in Premier League history to score nine goals in his first five games.

Carragher thinks the Premier League is witnessing something exceptional as the Norwegian has lived up to his reputation as one of the hottest properties around since arriving in England.

When asked which club had the best window and his summer signing, Carragher responded to Sky Sports News: “Manchester City have had a really good window. They lost a lot of attacking players, but bringing in the likes of (Julian) Alvarez, who already looks like real quality, and Haaland just looks amazing. I’m doing City’s game on Saturday at Aston Villa and I’m excited to watch him in the flesh, commentate on him for the first time and really get a good look at him off the ball as well.”

“We know we’ve got a great player in the league, but I think we’ve got something really special that when he’s finished his time at Manchester City or the Premier League, we’ll be talking about him alongside Thierry Henry. This lad could end up being the best player we see in the Premier League. He’s made a brilliant start, so I’m really excited to see him at the weekend.”

In a noteworthy last summer transfer window development, Paris Saint-Germain ‘offered’ Neymar to Manchester City. According to reports, the French club made the decision after the Brazilian and colleague Kylian Mbappe had a falling out.

During PSG’s Ligue 1 match against Montpellier last month, the two superstars got into an argument about who should take the team’s penalty kicks after the Brazilian refused to let his French teammate take the second one after his first attempt was saved. The fallout between the two saw Neymar ignore the agreement set by Paris Saint-Germain designed to ease tensions.

However, it may not come as a surprise that City were not interested in hiring the great forward’s services. Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez were both acquired by Pep Guardiola’s team this summer from Borussia Dortmund and River Plate, respectively, for significant sums of money.
