After 18 years as the club’s owners, the Glazer family is about to sell Manchester United. They listed the club for sale in November 2022, and are now expected to benefit enormously from this decision.

Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani, head of the Qatar Islamic Bank, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, CEO of INEOS, are the two front-runners to acquire the club. The club got a bid for £6 billion from a Qatari investor, and the present owners would receive a 40-fold return on their investment. CEO of INEOS has also said, “His aim is to be a long-term custodian of Manchester United and set the standard for a progressive approach to club ownership. As locally born, he wants to put the Manchester back into Manchester United.”

According to The Sun, the Glazers are hesitant to sell the club for less than £5 billion. Manchester United has been playing well recently, especially following an enthralling encounter against FC Barcelona. They will play again next week at Old Trafford.

Mason Greenwood reportedly met his teammates after being accused of trying to rape his ex-girlfriend, Harriet Robson, and acting domineering and abusive towards her.

Greenwood is now the subject of an internal investigation by Manchester United, and he is not permitted to train or play for the team. He reportedly saw his colleagues, whom he has known since his academy days, and sought their support after all accusations against him were withdrawn. Erik Ten Hag, the manager of United, also contacted him following the incident to check on his emotional and physical well-being.

Manchester United will return to the league when they face Leicester City on Sunday, hoping to cut the gap on their neighbors Manchester City. They also play FC Barcelona next week in the Europa League after drawing 2-2 against them at Camp Nou last week.
