Kylian Mbappe shone brightest on the grandest stage even though his team France lost against Argentina in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final. He scored a hattrick becoming just the first player since Geoff Hurst in 1966 to achieve the accolade in a World Cup final. It’s all in the past as reports emerge that Mbappe has joined PSG teammates to training just two after the World Cup.

With the 2022 Ligue 1 season resuming, Mbappe has set his priority straight with his goal now to fire PSG to their first continental glory alongside teammates Neymar and Lionel Messi, who defeated him in the World Cup final. Since the festive season is underway, let’s take a break from football to drive into the act of spreading joy displayed by Mbappe in 2019.

Prior to their match against Amiens, Paris Saint-Germain welcomed 250 kids from refugee centres to the Parc des Princes. Along with club owner Nasser Al Khelaifi, Kylian Mbappe made an appearance disguised as Santa Claus to hand over gifts to the children. The kids were given special treatment as they entered the locker room and watched the hosts warm up before the game.

“We wanted children in difficulty to experience this unique moment,” Sabrina Delannoy, director of the PSG Foundation, said. “For them, it’s an unforgettable night and a very important moment for the club and its foundation.” Watching their favourite football player as their Santa Claus certainly light up their day after various hardships being faced at such a young age. Mbappe scoring in the match was the cherry on the cake for those unprivileged children.

Tennis legend wants Kylian Mbappe to join Real Madrid in future

Tennis legend Rafael Nadal and PSG's Kylian Mbappe

Now back to the present time, given that Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe is a longtime target of Real Madrid, Nadal would have paid close attention since he scored three goals for France in the Lusail Stadium final. It wouldn’t be shocking if Mbappe eventually ends up at the Santiago Bernabeu, despite the fact that he turned down Madrid to sign a new PSG contract in May. In an interview with AS, who named Nadal their athlete of the year, the subject of Mbappe came up.

Nadal was asked if he would forgive Mbappe if he signed with Real Madrid. “I don’t have to forgive Mbappe for anything and as a Madrid fan, if he could, come tomorrow,” Nadal said.

“In the end, things happen in sports and I suppose that such a young boy was overwhelmed by such tremendous pressure from all angles that in the end… I think he wanted to come to Madrid, but due to many factors, everything was very complicated for him. Hopefully we can see him in Madrid in the future,” he added.
