Which Real Madrid players are set to miss Champions League semi-final clash against Manchester City?
Getting booked three times between the group stage and the quarterfinal will result in a one game suspension.
Eder Militao is set to miss the first leg of Real Madrid‘s semifinal tie in the Champions League. The Brazilian was booked in the Los Blancos’ 2-0 win against Chelsea in the second leg of the quarterfinal.
Players will be given a one game suspension if they pick up three yellow cards between matchday 1 and the quarterfinals. Militao picked up a yellow card once in the group stage and one in the first leg against the Blues before picking one up in the second leg too.
The Brazilian was booked after he flew into a reckless challenge on Conor Gallagher, who was trying to burst ahead on the left hand side. As a result, Chelsea were awarded a free kick in a dangerous position. However, they failed to capitalize.
Dani Carvajal was also at a risk of suspension as he had picked up two yellow cards over the course of the tournament. However, manager Carlo Ancelotti subbed the Spaniard off in the 82nd minute to retain him for the semifinal.
Real Madrid beat Chelsea 4-0 on aggregate, winning 2-0 in both legs. A brace from Rodrygo Goes was enough to seal the tie in the second leg after Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio scored in the first.

Who will Real Madrid face in the semifinal?
Real Madrid beat Chelsea to progress to their third successive Champions League semifinal. The Los Blancos will be hoping to replicate last season’s heroics and lift the coveted trophy for the 15th time.
However, the road to glory would be far from easy as Manchester City seems like the most probable opponent for the tie. The Citizens currently hold a 3-0 advantage going into the second leg of their quarterfinal against Bayern Munich.
Real Madrid and Manchester City faced off in the semifinal last season, as well. After City beat Real 4-3 in the first leg, Real scored two goals in stoppage time to turn the tie around and win 6-5 on an aggregate and go on to win the whole thing.
