Who has scored most goals as a substitute in the Champion’s League?
The most goals scored by a substitute is 9 goals
The Champions League has seen some game-changing performances from players coming off the bench. Perhaps the two most memorable moments by these substitutes would be Georginio Wijnaldum’s role in Liverpool’s comeback against Barcelona in the Semi-Final in 2019, and Gareth Bale’s brace in the final a year earlier. But which player has scored the most goals as a substitute in the Champions League?
Marco Asensio just broke his own record for the most goals coming off the bench. The Spanish winger scored a goal after being subbed on in the 71st minute in Real Madrid’s recent victory over Chelsea. Asensio has now scored nine goals as a substitute in the Champions League, and 12 goals in total in the competition.
Marco Asensio was the previous owner of the record too. Prior to last night, the Spaniard had scored eight goals as a substitute in the Champions League. The three-time UCL winner is now two goals clear of anyone for his record.

The Quickest goal as a substitute also belongs to a Real Madrid Player
Real Madrid have won the Champions League a record 14 times, so it stands that they would have some more records in the competition. The Los Blancos most notably housed the top scorer in the competition, with “Mr. UCL”, Cristiano Ronaldo scoring 140 goals. But who has scored the fastest goal as a substitute in the competition?
That record falls to another Real Madrid player. Vinicius Jr broke the previous record held by Lars Ricken and Andy van der Meyde of 15 seconds. The Brazilian scored just 14 seconds after coming off the bench in a 3-2 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk.
Real Madrid were trailing three-nil at the Alfredo De Stefano stadium at the break in the hands of the Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk. Zidane brought on the Brazilian in search of answers as the front three of Luka Jovic, Marco Asensio and Rodrygo failed to score goals. Vini jr. came on to replace Jovic in the 53rd minute. The Brazilian scored with his first kick. This is the fastest goal scored by a substitute ever since the sports analytics company has taken complete data in the Champions League.
