Neymar is one of the most talented players in the world. He was part of a scary attacking trio comprising himself, Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi. This trio ‘MNM’ were expected to wreak havoc and guide PSG to Champions League glory. However, they clearly failed to do so, and Neymar, on Thursday, gave his thoughts on the failure.
Neymar recently spoke to YouTuber Casimiro Miguel, where he gave his take on why the MNM failed. Neymar said “Messi, Mbappé and I are three guys who are the best in the world. We knew it, but unfortunately, we didn’t fit in. It wasn’t good for us.” Neymar thus believes the trio did not complement each other and click in together.
He believes this is why the trio could not fire PSG to a Champions League title despite playing two seasons together. The Parisians were knocked out in the Round-of-16 in both of their campaigns. The trio broke as Lionel Messi proceeded to move to Inter Miami after the expiration of his PSG contract.
Now it seems like another member of the trio, Kylian Mbappe is set to leave Paris. Mbappe has decided not to renew his contract at PSG. However, Neymar has confirmed he will be staying at the club. The Brazilian has a contract till 2027 and still has hopes for winning trophies in his career. He confirmed his desire to stay in the same interview.
