Xavi said:
The day my players no longer follow me, I'll pack my bags and leave. If someone tells me that there's a problem, I'll leave. Had I not won La Liga last season, I wouldn't even be here. I love this club and I'm here to bring success.Xavi told the reporters

Xavi ‘OK’ with selling two crucial players – Report
Amidst an unconvincing and difficult season, Blaugrana boss Xavi Hernandez has made his mind up on who to ‘sell’ if they are to retain their grip on the league. Even though the manager does not have a big say in Barcelona’s business in the transfer market, he has listed two ‘crucial’ players that he’s willing to part ways with. His list also contains a player that significantly excites Premier League giants Manchester United.

Both Frenkie de Jong and Ilkay Gundogan have been crucial to Barcelona’s midfield this season. However, as per Xavi, the club are in dire need of an efficient pivot, good enough to control the game. Neither De Jong nor Gundogan have managed to fill the gap left by Sergio Busquets, with Oriol Romeu being a far cry from what Barca needs. Gundogan’s departure is more straightforward and purely ‘profit-making’ as he was brought in for free.
De Jong, on the other hand, may need significant convincing if he is to leave the club. The midfielder was one of Barcà’s best players last season but has failed to replicate his form from last year. Moreover, Manchester United have expressed a strong desire to sign the player in the past, with his desire to stay at the club being the only hindrance to the move. Barcelona are yet to make a move in the January transfer window.
