Ex-Barcelona Star, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whose birthday falls on the 3rd of October, narrates an incident that took place while the Swede was playing for the Blaugrana. Ibrahimovic was told by Pep Guardiola, “Remember, players here don’t come with Ferraris,” to which the player replied by arriving the next day in a Ferrari.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, known for his ‘God complex’, brought his confident attitude to Spain when Barcelona signed him from Inter Milan in 2009. During an interview with Piers Morgan, he recalled a funny encounter with his new manager, Pep Guardiola. Guardiola told him, “Remember, players here don’t drive Ferraris.” Zlatan’s response? “What did I do? Of course. I brought my f*cking Ferrari.”

Zlatan and Pep had a strained relationship during their time at Barcelona. Even before the season ended, it was clear that they didn’t want to work together.“When you buy me, you are buying a Ferrari. If you drive a Ferrari, you put premium petrol in the tank,” Zlatan shared. Further adding, “Guardiola filled up with diesel and took a spin in the countryside. He should have bought a Fiat.”

Pep, however, took the more diplomatic route when it came to talking about the Swede. “It was a pleasure to coach Zlatan, If I meet him I’ll greet him, I say again that I have no problems with him,” the Spaniard stated.

The two never worked with each other again after Zlatan left the club in 2010 but would face each other a couple of times when the Swede played for Manchester United and Pep was manager of Manchester City.
