All you need to know about the 14-year-old AC Milan prodigy who has scored 485 goals in just 89 matches
AC Milan's Francesco Camarda is grabbing all the headlines at youth level after stellar goal-scoring prowess.
AC Milan Youth Academy has produced some football greats over the years with the likes of Paolo Maldini, Franco Baresi, Francesco Toldo, Alessandro Costacurta, and the list goes on. It looks like there’s no end to it as a new name has been making headlines all over Italy and Europe with his goal-scoring prowess at the youth level.
AC Milan prodigy, Francesco Camarda who is just 14 years of age, scored an awe-inspiring 485 goals in 89 games at the youth level. The highly regarded 14-year-old forward averages about 5.5 goals per game and has developed a reputation at the AC Milan academy for playing against older age groups. Sciabolata Morbida, a football scout, cited Camarda as “one of the most prolific strikers in the country” before outlining his impressive goal tally over the previous few seasons.
In addition, the teenager netted a brace in a friendly match against Solbiatese this month after being promoted to Milan’s Primavera (U19) team. To sum it up, Camarda’s record in front of goal is ridiculous. When he was just 8 years old, he scored 247 goals in just 40 games for the AC Milan youth team during the 2017–18 season. After that, he scored 172 goals in 31 games for the 2018–19 season.
Mordiba continues by stating that Camarda scored 64 goals in 16 games during the 2019–20 season, giving him a three-year total of 483 goals in 87 games. Since then, a little info on the young Italian striker, who has previously played for Italy’s U15 side, has surfaced.
More insights provided about Francesco Camarda by one AC Milan fan
Camarda has already scored twice for the AC Milan U16 team as of June of this year, and as was already said, he also scored for their U19 team against Solbiatese, a team that competes in the fifth division of Italian football. The 14-year-old also played for the club’s U17 team in a Campionato Nationale B match against Cittadella in September, starting the match alongside 16-year-old strike partner Luca Martinazzi.
Fer, a supporter of AC Milan, has provided an intriguing look at Camarda’s promising Rossoneri career so far. He wrote: “For me, [he is] the most exciting talent in Milan’s youth sector. He’s pretty young, but this boy is a rocket. He went viral because of his great numbers but it’s not just smoke. He has everything. He was champion with the U15 last season and he won the award for best player with U14’s (underage) at a tournament.”
“This year he is supposed to play with the U16s but according to Transfermarkt, he has already played a match with the u17s. From what I’ve seen and read, he’s something brutal. A complete striker with a good mentality. He’s done several interviews and has indicated that he models his game on [Karim] Benzema,” he added.
