The worldwide stoppage of social media platforms Whatsapp, Facebook and Instagram caused huge outrage around the globe. It reflects upon the fact that the world currently cannot sustain itself without being continuously connected.

And to reach out to people about the servers being down, Twitter came to the rescue! Hoardes of people flocked to Twitter to share their mutual anger and frustration.

Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram all servers went down together at 3:42 PM (GMT) and it started to come online after 5 hours of complete shutdown. Mark Zuckerberg during this time of shutdown suffered a loss of about $7 million in net worth and he took to Facebook to apologize for this huge outage.

“To the huge community of people and businesses around the world who depend on us: we’re sorry,” Facebook said on Monday evening after all servers came online. “The root cause of this outage was a faulty configuration change No evidence that user data was compromised as a result,” the statement added.
