Nike honours Cristiano Ronaldo on their social media after his 110th record breaking goal in Men’s International Football

Cristiano Ronaldo, the Five times Ballon D’or winner, became the highest goalscorer in Men’s international football on Thursday night after he scored two last minute goals to secure the win against Ireland.

Cristiano Ronaldo after scoring two goals in Euro 2020 against France recorded his 109th goal in his International career and equalled the record with Iran’s Ali Daei. After scoring two late goals against Ireland he crossed Ali Daei to become highest goalscorer in Men’s International Football with 111 goals.

Nike the world class sports brand decided to honour Cristiano Ronaldo’s after his record breaking performance with Ireland with a video on their official Instagram account.

The video features cinematic shots of Cristiano Ronaldo’s country Portugal. It’s a compilation of some of the great footballers who have played with Ronaldo and give their views on his hard work and talent. It’s a tribute from them on having witnessed one of the greatest of all time.

The video features the likes of Ruud Van Nistelroy, Luka Modric, Andre Silva, Matteo Kovacic and many more. All of whom have played with Cristiano Ronaldo and have seen him work first hand.

“He said ‘I will be the best player in the world’, I laugh now but later I saw that was what he really was going to achieve,” said Ruud Van Nistelroy.

“Talent gets you so far, but there must have been an inner drive and there must have been something from when he was young thinking ‘I want to be the best’,” said Michael Carrick.
