Northeast United FC announce deal to sign free-agent Laldanmawia Ralte
The Highlanders have announced that they have roped in the services of Laldanmawia Ralte, also known as Danmawia. Northeast United FC have offered a multi-year contract to him, as he was out of contract after his spell with Hyderabad FC last season. The Mizoram born winger is set to feature for his home club for the upcoming 2021/22 season. Northeast United FC took to twitter to announce the deal, as they put a video for Danmawia, with the caption, “Adding ammunition to the attack, Danmawia joins the strike force #StrongerAsOne”
Reunion with Northeast United FC coach Khalid Jamil
It is believed to be the perfect deal for Danmawia, as he is not only signing for his home club, but he also gets to reunite with his former coach Khalid Jamil. Danmawia enjoyed his best time under Khalid Jamil at Aizawl FC, when the northeastern club went on to become the unexpected I-League winners and complete an underdog story for ages. Now, as “The Master and the Student” join hands together again, they would aim to replicate the story with NEUFC.
Laldanmawia’s career so far
Danmawia joined the Mizoram Armed Police Academy in 2009, followed by a title winning season with Dinthar FC in the Mizoram Premier League. In 2014, Danmawia played a part in Mizoram’s victory in the Santhosh Trophy. He became a serial winner as Aizawl FC, led by Khalid Jamil, went on to win the I-League.
Seeing his crazy journey, East Bengal signed him and he played there for two years, after which Hyderabad FC acme calling and gave him his first ISL contract. The 28-year-old made seven appearances for the club, but failed to make an impact in the team.
Now back with his former manager, Danmawia would be looking to revive his career and help Northeast United FC repeat the heroics from last season.
