Nuno Espirito Santo to leave Wolves at the end of the season

Wolverhampton Wanderers have the final match of their season on Sunday against Manchester United and the news has broken out. The Molineux based outfit has agreed to part their ways with their manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, at the end of the season. This comes as a shocker for fans who were expecting him to sign the new contract with the club.
Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nuno Santo have agreed mutually to end their association. The club is already in the market in search of Nuno Espirito Santo’s replacement. Bruno Lage is tipped to replace the Portuguese manager at Molineux.

The transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano, updated the football fraternity regarding Nuno Esperito Santo’s departure using his Twitter handle. The same is confirmed Wolverhampton Wanderers on their official website as well. He said
Nuno Espirito Santo will leave Wolverhampton by mutual agreement at the end of the season. Official and confirmed by Wolves. Wolves have contacted former Benfica manager Bruno Lage as ‘main option’ to replace Nuno Espirito Santo who’s leaving the club. Talks ongoing. #Wolves Sergio Conçeiçao was also in the list with 3 options but Bruno Lage is the favourite as of today. Final decision soon.
The manager thanked the supporters for their immense support during his tenure at Compton. Nuno Santo said to the official website:

The Portuguese manager also termed that the game against Manchester United will be an emotional as the club will play at Molineux in front of fans. He said:

Under Nuno Santo, the club has finished in the top half of the points table since their promotion in 2017/18. The club failed to secure the top-half finish for the first time this season. Not only that, the club also featured in Europa League as well in 2019/20. The club made all the way to quarterfinals in the second-tier European competition. Nuno Espirito Santo is tipped to join Tottenham Hotspur for the upcoming season. However, the manager has not outlined about his future to the press.
