Premier League: Brighton player Solly March signs new contract

Brighton confirmed earlier today that midfielder Solly March has signed a new two-year extension keeping him at the club till June 2024.

The 27-year-old has over 200 appearances for the seagulls, and also made his 100th Premier League appearance last season.

The player completed ten years at the club this year joining from non-league club Lewes F.C back in 2011. He made his debut against Derby County in 2013, before helping the club to secure promotion to Premier League in the year 2017.

Solly March has 14 goals and 20 assists to his name at Brighton & Hove Albion, and has 188 appearances for the club in the Premier League.

The midfielder has also featured for his country having made three appearances for the England U-21s.

Head coach Graham Potter was delighted that the player has signed a new deal. “I am really pleased to see Solly commit his future here, he is a pleasure to work with and it’s great to see him continue to progress.” said Potter.

As a local lad he is a great role model and excellent example for any young player with his commitment and hard work.He’s a player who makes a significant impact for us at both ends of the pitch, and we are delighted he’s committed his long-term future to the club.” He added.

Brighton win at home against Watford

Brighton won their second Premier League game against Watford on Saturday. The fans were back at The Amex Stadium for the first time in over a year and were delighted to see their team take all three points.

Defender Shane Duffy opened the scoring for the hosts in the 10th minute scoring a powerful header before Neal Maupay doubling the lead just before the half-time.Yves Bissouma was sensational in midfield against Watford.

Brighton’s next match is an away tie in the Carabao Cup against Cardiff City.
