The Premier League is over for this season, and it had a fitting finale on the final day of the campaign. With all the games starting at the same time, the tension among Premier league fans was immense as the games ebbed and flowed for the whole 90 minutes.

It all started of all pink and rosy for Leicester who grabbed the lead in the 18th minute after Alderweireld fouled Jamie Vardy inside the penalty box. The English striker made no mistake from the spot and handed them a 1-0 lead.
Harry Kane scored his 23rd goal of the season, which will see him win the Golden Boot in Premier League just before half-time to bring Spurs back level. The striker, probably playing his last game for the club scored from a perfectly struck volley.
Jamie Vardy once again earned and converted a penalty for Leicester right at the start of the second half and slotted it home, like his first to once again boos Leicester’s chances.
Leicester’s bubble was burst in the 76th minute when Tottenham scored from a corner at the far end. Schmeichel attempted to punch away Son’s inswinging corner but got his timing all wrong and could only help the ball into his own net as Leicester stared disappointment in the face again.
With the match level, both teams were looking to go all out for the winner which would have benefitted both sides. However, it was Tottenham who proved too much for Leicester as Gareth Bale scored from a Harry Kane assist in the 87th minute to put the final nail in Leicester’s coffin.
Gareth Bale, on loan from Real Madrid then added more misery onto Leicester as he finished off a counter attack in the 95th minute to add more sheen on the final scoreline.
Tottenham finished the Premier League season at 7th spot with a total of 62 points, while Leicester finished 5th with a tally of 66 points. For both these sides, it will end as a season of so near yet so far but they have surely shown the talent they possess and would definitely be a threat for others in the next season.
