Real Madrid looking to Hijack Ronald Araujo from FC Barcelona ! All you need to know
Ronald Araujo has undoubtedly established himself as one of the best defenders in not only FC Barcelona but in La Liga as a whole. The Uruguayan has witnessed a meteoric rise in his stature in the past few years and has thus obviously raised interests from top-tier clubs from all over Europe.
FC Barcelona signed Ronald Araujo from Boston River back in 2018 but it was not until 2019 that he made his first team appearance under the then manager Ernesto Valverde. Since then Barca has undergone 4 changes in the managerial position but Ronald Araujo has been a mainstay in the playing XI under all of them. It was under former Barca manager Ronald Koeman that he made his presence felt the most and is continuing to do so under the current manager Xavi Hernandez.
Ronald Araujo is a vital cog and a leader in FC Barcelona’s defence and it is fascinating how he has risen through the ranks at a young age of just 22. However, Araujo’s stay at FC Barcelona is now under concern due to his tricky contract situation.
Real Madrid are eager to sign Barca star Ronald Araujo
The Uruguayan has just 18 months left in his Barca contract and many English clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are monitoring the situation closely. They are ready to offer a handsome salary to the defender if he decides to leave Barca next year. According to reports, Barca’s arch rivals Real Madrid have also entered the race to sign Ronald Araujo.
The signing of Ferran Torres has left Ronald Araujo’s renewal at a standstill and Real Madrid think that they can indeed sign the defender if he is willing to join the Los Blancos. Real tried to sign Araujo before he was contacted by FC Barcelona in 2018 but the defender had chosen the Blaugrana.
