The Covid Pandemic has shortened the season from October to May and with the European Championships scheduled this summer has led to an extended season.

The Bayern Munich star will lead Poland in the Euros this year, as he aims International success to cap off a wonderful year in football. However, the Polish star believes that players will struggle to continue to perform at the highest level due to the packed schedule over the next years.
“So many people forget we’re humans, we’re not machines, we cannot play every day at the highest level of performance,” Robert Lewandowski told The Times.
“For football and for young players, that will be the big problem, to stay at the top for many years, because now and maybe the next two years, that will be extreme: so many big games.”
Robert Lewandowksi also warned that not only footballers, but even fans would get bored because of the increasing number of matches every season. He felt that the more the fans’ wait for big matches, the excited they are and it’s not going to happen with the if the current schedule is in place.
“Even for the fans, I think so many games will be more boring because if you wait for the games longer, there’s more expectation, that feeling that you’ve been waiting for this,” he added.
