As the SAFF Championships have started, Bangladesh face favorites India in the third match of the tournament. India would be looking to start their campaign on a high, while Bangladesh would try to pick up from their good start to the tournament.

Despite getting a win against Sri Lanka, thanks to a penalty goal from Topu Barman in the first game, Bangladesh will have a lot of work to put into as they were just the better of the two poor sides in the 1-0 encounter. But a win for Bangladesh would definitely boost the confidence of the players, as they would love to act as the party spoilers for the favorites, India.
However, India have not been on their best shape too, despite being on an undefeated run of four previous games. India recently defeated Bangladesh 2-0 in June, and would definitely want to get back their mojo for the coming encounter. Nevertheless, the Indian contingent would like to forget the nervousness during the previous encounters and will have to handle the pressure of the ‘favorites’ tag.
In the press conference before the match, Indian coach Igor Stimac referred to the opening game and said, “We will be playing a style which will bring us results. There was one counter-attack by Nepal in their match against Maldives, and they won the game despite Maldives being the better side. We don’t know what each game will bring to us on the plate. We will adapt to everything that is thrown at us.”
