Sergio Aguero scored a brace in his final Premier League game

Sergio Aguero received his fairy-tale ending to his ten year old Manchester City career after the striker broke yet another Premier League record before leaving England. Sergio Aguero has now scored most Premier League goals for a single club, breaking Wayne Rooney’s record on the way.

The Argentinian scored a brace after coming on to a huge reception in the 64th minute as a second half-substitute. City’s all-time record goal scorer, who will leave the club at the end of the season when he is out of contract, scored his 184th Premier League goal on the final day of the season in the 5-0 victory over Everton.

Manchester City, having already secured the Premier League title showed no signs of mercy on Everton, scoring a total of 5 minutes to kick-start their celebrations this evening. Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Gabriel Jesus all scored for City before Aguero added the cherry on top by scoring twice inside five minutes.

The Etihad Stadium rose to acclaim Aguero’s entrance as Manchester City’s record scorer trotted out in the club colours for the 389th and final time. The 10,000 returning fans had been granted what they so wanted by Pep Guardiola: a last sight of the goalscoring genius to crown this title-celebration jamboree.

The 32-year old, Aguero spoke to the media while Manchester City were lifting their titles. The striker thanked the club and his teammates for whatever he has achieved and contributed to the club.

“I’m so happy, I want to say thanks to my teammates, thank you for everything. I’m a striker, my target is to score goals, so I’m so happy because finally my last game, two goals is fantastic. The first title for me was the most important for the club and for me I’m so happy because It’s not easy to do 10 years with one club.”

Pep Guardiola let Aguero have his final moment of glory in the Premier League

Pep Guardiola was in tears as he talked about the departing striker. “We love him so much. He’s a special person for all of us. We can’t replace him,” Guardiola said.

From his “Aguerooooooo” moment in 2011 to his brace on the final day of his career at Manchester City in the Premier League, Aguero will always be remembered as one of the best players to have played for City and the premier League in the years to come.
