Empoli finished top of the Serie B last season and claimed an entry into the top flight of Italian football after the 2018-19 season. However, they were dealt a blow this summer after their coach Alessio Dionisi left the managerial role and it has been taken over by another Italian coach Aurelio Andreazzoli. The club signed Patrick Cutrone from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer and will look to avoid demotion this season.
After a poor campaign in 2020/21, where Lazio finished 6th in the league a long way off the Top-4 in terms of points secured, the club decided to bring in a change at the managerial position and appointed the highly rated Mauricio Sarri to lead the team this season. The former Juve boss has had a decent start to his career at the club and secured 3 draws out of the allotted 4 preseason matches. However, the hard taskmaster would love to get his Serie A career off to a winning start on Saturday.
