The 2023 Wimbledon final between Novak Djokovic and Carloz Alcaraz proved to be one of the most anticipated events of the year, with the latter winning his second Grand Slam title. Many celebrities and A-Listers were present at the finale. British singer Stormzy was also spotted at the championship event. However, he was confused with Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.
This year’s Wimbledon final pitted Novak Djokovic against Carlos Alcaraz. The match proved to be a tightly contested one and hence many celebrities were attending the game. Brad Pitt, Ariana Grande, and Daniel Craig are some of the top stars present. Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr., who goes by his stage name Stormzy was also at the event and he was mistaken for Romelu Lukaku.
Stormzy was confused for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku by a Swedish commentator. Fans were also confounded. The duo do share a likeness and have been mistook for each other even in the past. A similar incident occurred in 2017 when an Irish paper mistook Stormzy for Lukaku and printed his image for the Belgian superstar.
Lukaku’s future currently is up in the air. The forward is not going to feature for his current club Chelsea, who are looking to offload him. He had a move scheduled to Inter Milan which failed after reports emerged of interest from Inter Milan’s rivals Juventus.

The confusion of the fans was aided when a Swedish commentator accidentally misidentified Stormzy as Romelu Lukaku. The fans were confounded as the similarities between the two are remarkable. Fans also were surprised to know about Romelu Lukaku’s apparent presence at the finals.
The social media was confused as to why Lukaku would be present at the final amidst finalizing a transfer away from England. Some fans cleared the mistake on social media and informed about the confusion between Stormzy and Lukaku.
Romelu Lukaku’s next destination is definitely away from England, as the striker searches for clubs. Juventus have approached Chelsea for the striker and are in negotiations with the Blues. Lukaku has garnered attention even from Saudi Arabia. Stormzy on the other hand has ventured into the world of football as he has bought a club, AFC Croydon Athletic.
