Chelsea manager requests two things from the club’s new owners

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel
Thomas Tuchel says he wishes Chelsea’s new owners retain the services of Marina Granovskaia and Petr Cech but says he will have ‘no influence’ over the decision.
On Wednesday evening, last week, Roman Abramovich announced the sale of the club saying he believes “it is in the best interest of the club” after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The Russian billionaire, who bought Chelsea in 2003, is said to have close ties to President Vladimir Putin, although he has denied this.
As per reports, NFL’s New York Jets owner, Woody Johnson, is preparing a bid to buy the Blues.
Asked if Thomas Tuchel wants Granovskaia and Cech to stay at Chelsea, he said on Wednesday afternoon: “This will not be my choice.
“I can only tell you that until now it has been an excellent relationship and has worked so, so well for me and hopefully for them as well.
“To take these decisions and to have updates in a small circle of communication and responsibility has worked well.
“Hopefully it will stay like this but I have no influence on this and no information on whether it will or not.”

Thomas Tuchel on his future with Chelsea

Talking about the departure of Roman Abramovic on Friday, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel said it is very big news for the team and he hopes everything works out well.
“It’s a bit too early as it’s big news. It’s a bit too early for me to speak. I can only think about Chelsea with Roman Abramovich, so it’s very hard for me. It didn’t sink in yet this is going to stop. It’s a massive change.”
The questions obviously turned to whether Tuchel is doubtful about his time at Chelsea, to which he replied that he is not that worried about it.
He said, “Chelsea is, from my point of view, for me, it is a perfect fit. I love to be here, I love everything about the club and hopefully, it continues.
“There is an uncertainty, but, isn’t it always as a football manager?
“So, I am used and trained to live with it on different levels and this is of course quite the level.
“I am positive and hope things will end well.”
The German believes it was a fitting send-off for Chelsea’s beloved club owner Roman Abramovich.
“We are very happy we could give him this and win it for him,” he said.
“We closed the cycle for him and for his effort and passion and commitment to the club. So it was good timing.”
Chelsea are currently third in the Premier League table, behind Manchester City and Liverpool with 53 points in the bag.
