The French top-flight football, Ligue 1 saw a huge upset in the last term. In the 2020/21 season, rather than eventual winners of the league, Paris St Germain, LOSC Lille clinched the title. #1) Mike Maignan (Club: LOSC Lille)

The best goalkeeper in the French top-flight and one of the top 5 French goalkeepers in Ligue 1, Mike Maignan conceded just 23 goals. He was stingy in the defense throught 38 games that he played in the French top-flight. He also 86 shots that was on target and accounted for 79.4% of saves. Of the 38 games, he had 21 clean sheets to his name in Ligue 1.

The team conceded two penalty kicks in the 2020/21 season out of which he saved a penalty attempt. The 24-year-old is liked by multiple European clubs and will like to impress them again.

#2) Benjamin Lecomte (Club: AS Monaco)

The second Frenchman on the list, Benjamin Lecomte was played a big role helping AS Monaco to finish third on the points table. Though the club missed out on the title and Champions League on the final day of the 2020/21 season. Benjamin Lecomte started 28 games for AS Monaco in the 2020/21 season. One of the top goalkeepers in Ligue 1 and a famous French international, Steve Mandanda is still one of the top 5 French goalkeepers in Ligue 1. Though 36-year-old, he is set to feature in the 2021/22 season. In the previous season, he displayed his A game for Marseille with 62% save percentage.

In 29 games for Marseille, Steve Mandanda kept 9 clean sheets in the French top-flight. He failed to save any of the four penalties that was conceded by his defense.

#4) Jean Louis Leca (Club: Lens)

Lens finished seventh in Ligue 1 in the last term and Jean Louis Leva is one off the main reasons behind Lens’ success in the French top-flight. He is one of the top 5 French goalkeepers in Ligue 1 and featured in 37 games. The player just conceded 51 goals averaging 1.30 goals per 90.

There were 128 shots on target in the last term against Jean Louis Leca and the player was upto the task. He saved 68% of the shots in the French top-flight.
