Tuchel disapproves of Chelsea fans chanting Roman Abramovich during the moment of solidarity for Ukraine
Thomas Tuchel has criticised Chelsea supporters who chanted Roman Abramovich’s name during the one minute of applause for Ukraine. Speaking after a 4-0 win against Burnley, Tuchel claimed that this was not a reflection of his players or a club who pride themselves in showing respect.
“It was not the moment to do this,” Tuchel told his post-match press conference. “If we show solidarity, we show solidarity, we should do it together.
“We take the knee together. If an important person from our club or another club unfortunately dies, we show a minute of respect, it is not the moment to give other messages, it’s a moment to show respect.
“We do this because this is what we are, we show respect as a club, and we need our fans to commit to this minute of applause.
“We do it for Ukraine, there is no second opinion about the situation there. They have our thoughts and our support; we should stand together as a club. It’s not the moment for other messages.”

Thomas Tuchel on his future with Chelsea
Talking about the departure of Roman Abramovic on Friday, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel said it is very big news for the team and he hopes everything works out well.
“It’s a bit too early as it’s big news. It’s a bit too early for me to speak. I can only think about Chelsea with Roman Abramovich, so it’s very hard for me. It didn’t sink in yet this is going to stop. It’s a massive change.”
The questions obviously turned to whether Tuchel is doubtful about his time at Chelsea, to which he replied that he is not that worried about it.
He said, “Chelsea is, from my point of view, for me, it is a perfect fit. I love to be here, I love everything about the club and hopefully, it continues.
“There is an uncertainty, but, isn’t it always as a football manager?
“So, I am used and trained to live with it on different levels and this is of course quite the level.
“I am positive and hope things will end well.”
The German believes it was a fitting send-off for Chelsea’s beloved club owner Roman Abramovich.
“We are very happy we could give him this and win it for him,” he said.
“We closed the cycle for him and for his effort and passion and commitment to the club. So it was good timing.”
Chelsea are currently third in the Premier League table, behind Manchester City and Liverpool with 53 points in the bag.
