Barcelona’s new number 10 Ansu Fati scores in his first game after returning from a long term knee injury suffered in November 2020. Fati immediately went over to the dugout to hug the medical staff to thank them in his recovery in these past months and then went in the stands to celebrate it with his brother.
The 22 year old came on for Barcelona after 323 days out and was immediately on the score sheet after he scored a sensational goal in the closing moments of the game against Levante and also received the Man Of the Match award after a brilliant 10 minute cameo.

Fati’s return has been delayed by a month or two after Spain international was in contention to return in early August but a minor relapse resulted the forward to wait for his much anticipated return. But finally after a 11 months lay off Fati is back for the Catalan club and this is surely a boost for Barcelona in attacking perspective with the likes of Sergio Aguero, Dembele and Martin Braithwaite are all out due to injuries. It has been a difficult summer for Barcelona watching their captain and six-time Ballon D’or winner Lionel Messi left the club after 16 years.

Barcelona confirmed on 1st September that Ansu Fati will inherit the famous number 10 vacated after the departure of Messi, and it the football world was in high praise for the forward as a La Masia graduate was given the highly coveted number. Barcelona fans will be excited to see Fati link up with new signing Memphis Depay in the coming games and will surely hope for more goals from the Spain international.

Barcelona back to winning ways against Levante

Barcelona were back to winning ways against Levante in a 3-0 home win after going winless in their last three games in all competitions. Manager Ronald Koeman was sent off in the last game and as a result of it is serving a two match ban and watched his side win over Levante from the stands. Memphis opened the scoring in the 8th minute after dispatching a penalty he won himself before Luuk De Jong scored his first goal in Barcelona colors. But the limelight belonged to the Ansu Fati scoring on his return after 322 days. Barcelona travel to Portugal to take on Benfica in their second group game in the Champions League on Tuesday.
