Both Real and Atletico Madrid trail by a goal as they go into half time in their respective games
Both of the Madrid sides are playing their final game in La Liga, with the title race on line. Real Madrid are trying to win their second consecutive La Liga title in two years, while Atletico desperate to secure their first since 2014.
However, the two top sides of Spain have gone a goal down inside the first 20 minutes of the game. Atletico conceding away to Real Valladolid and Real conceding against Villareal at home makes the title race even more interesting now, with both sides desperate for a win.

Real Madrid look to win their 35th LaLiga title with a win against Villareal. It would be the first time they have won the league in consecutive seasons since 2006/07 under Fabio Capello and 2007/08 under Bernd Schuster. If they can secure the title, Zinédine Zidane could become the first Real Madrid manager to win two league titles in a row since Leo Beenhakker’s three.
However, Real suffer a blow to their hopes, as they go down by a goal against Villareal, with Yeremy Pino scoring for the visitors. Gerard moreno pokes a loose ball into the box that Pino controls. He breaks away from Militao before striking his effort past Courtois, who gets a deflection on the ball, but cannot keep the effort out. Quite later Luka Modric had Los Blancos’ best opening, but he could only fire wide of the target.
In another crucial match, Atletico went down a goal to Real Valladolid at the 18th minute, to give their city rivals Real a hope that was though short-lived as Real conceded shortly after.
Valladolid break from Atletico’s corner and hit their opponents on the counter-attack to open the scoring. A smart touch inside by San Emeterio finds De Sousa who releases Plano over the halfway line. Plano drives forward, going one-on-one with Oblak before placing a low, right-footed effort into the bottom right corner beyond the onrushing goalkeeper.
Both Madrid sides will now try to spur a comeback, with all to play for in the second half as they both are eager to secure a title win. A draw or loss for Atletico means that Real can go on to win the coveted title with a win at home.
