Among the big transfers the Chelsea FC have completed in the past few years, Hakim Ziyech remains the most unused player. He played zero to no part in Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League winning campaign last season and has not played many matches in the Premier League this season as well. Although he impressed on some rare occasions, the general agenda among fans was that the Moroccan international was severely underperforming. Well, not any more.
Hakim Ziyech just lit the Stamford Bridge with an absolute banger to provide Chelsea with the lead in the ongoing London derby between the Blues and their arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

After a 0-0 scoreline at halftime, Chelsea stepped onto the field in the second half with a much more attacking mentality. And they got the result within just 2 minutes, courtesy of Hakim Ziyech’s wizardry.
After a commendable run down the left flank, Callum Hudson-Odoi squared the ball to Hakim Ziyech who was at 25 yards distance from the post. The defenders, thinking he would cross it towards the box, marked Romelu Lukaku but the Moroccan had other plans. He cut in on his left foot and guided his shot past a rooted Hugo Lloris to give the hosts the lead! The Spurs defender and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris were all left stunned by Ziyech’s astonishing strike and Stamford Bridge’s crowd went bonkers.
This was Hakim Ziyech’s second Premier League goal this season and boy it was a special one.
Chelsea’s second goal came moments later through defender Thiago Silva. The Brazilian veteran latched onto a sublime cross from Mason Mount and headed it beautifully in the back of the net.
If the scoreline remains in Chelsea’s favour till the end of the match, it would be the Blues’ 5th successive victory over their London rivals.
