It was AS Roma who got the early lead through Tammy Abraham’s 11th minute strike but Juventus equalised moments later through Paolo Dybala. Roma had a 3-1 by the 53rd minute but the game had much more in store. Within the 70th and the 77th minute, Juventus scored as many as 3 goals and took a 4-3 lead, shocking everyone. Juventus defender Matthijs De Ligt received the red card in the 81st minute. This was undoubtedly Juve’s best performance in a long while.
WATCH: Federico Chiesa’s injury

The most unfortunate incident of the match, however, was Juventus youngster Federico Chiesa’s injury. AS Roma’s latest signing Ainsley Maitland-Niles heavily tackled the winger from the back and caught him badly during the challenge. Chiesa fell down in agonizing pain and could not stand back up. The medics had to step in and take the player out of the field.
After analysing the footage closely, Physiotherapists are of the opinion that he has suffered an ACL rupture. It might have been influenced by the knee ligament sprain that he previously had. The official reports are yet to come but there is indeed a huge possibility of it being an ACL tear and in that case, Chiesa will have to stay off the field for any period between 6 to 12 months which will be a massive loss to the club.
