The moment of magic and truth has finally arrived for all Lionel Messi and Paris Saint Germain fans. Messi has finally taken the pitch for the first time in a PSG shirt after signing for the club on the 10th of August.

The Argentine maestro came on in the second half at the 64th minute to make his first appearance for the club in a competitive match. He replaced his friend and long-time friend at Barcelona Neymar as the PSG fans welcomed the player with a huge round of applause.

Messi signed for PSG in August after it emerged that FC Barcelona does not have the finances required to make him sign a contract extension this season. Since then a lot of speculation was made about the moment when Messi would finally make his debut for the club as fans were eager to see their favorite player in a new avatar.

Lionel Messi was finally named in Paris’ fourth league match as the coach gave him ample amount of time to regain his fitness after his holiday post Argentina’s Copa America win in July.

Mauricio Pochettino decided to bring on Messi and Ander Herrera in at the same time for Neymar and Wijnaldum as Paris were looking to defend a 2-goal lead for the remaining half an hour. Messi and Neymar shared an emotional hug as Neymar prepared to leave the field allowing Messi to come on as his substitute.
