WATCH: Manisha Kalyan etches history for Indian football by scoring a stunner against the Brazilian side
The Indian Women’s Football team went up against the Brazilian Women’s Football team in a match on Friday morning where they ended up writing the match in the history of India.
The Brazilian National women’s football team are currently ranked seventh in the world and they came in to show it from the very first minute of the game where they took an early lead.
Although the Selecao kept on maintaining pressure upfront in the D-box of the blues, they were caught in a quick counter attack beautifully executed by the Blue Tigress. The ball was cleared into the midfield which was beautiful headed by Pyari Xaxa towards Manisha Kalyan who soared through the left flank and shot to across he Goalkeeper from outside the box to score a stunning goal and equalise 1-1.
Manisha Kalyan has been the rising star for the women’s football. She has helped Gokulam Kerala to win the Indian Women’s Football league in the 2019/20 campaign and was also awarded with the AIFF emerging player of the year in 2020/21 season.
Indian Women’s Football team displayed class but ultimately succumbed to mammoth loss to the Brazilian side
The Indian National Women’s Football team showed an excellent display of football in the first half which ended in a 2-1 scoreline but everything seemed to have changed in favour of the Brazilian in the second half as they won the match 6-1 at the blow of the full time whistle.
India will next take on Chile and then Venezuela as they continue their preparation for the AFC Cup as Thommas Dennerby looks to lead the Indian Women’s footalball team to their first match title.
