WATCH: Mats Hummels’ sensational assist for Germany on his International Return

The European teams are all in action in pre-EURO 2020 friendlies currently in order to build their perfect set-up for the main competition. Germany are playing Latvia in their designated pre-EURO warm match friendly.
Joachim Loew started a pretty strong line-up and the Germans have simply outclassed their opposition and emerged 7-1 victors in the match. Germany’s two veteran players in Thomas Mueller and Mats Hummels both started and made their presence felt with the performances they put out on the pitch.
Mats Hummels displayed his incredible range of passing with a superb assist for Serge Gnabry
However, it was Mats Hummels who might have stolen the show from his other partner Thomas Muller even though the latter scored in the match. Hummels playing at his usual position centre-back provided a remarkable assist for Serge Gnabry who scored Germany’s 5th goal of the match.
The defender made an outside of the boot pass from inside his own half, and the ball fell for Gnabry inside the Latvia penalty box. It reached Serge Gnabry having caught out Latvia’s midfielders and defenders unawares, and Gnabry then did the rest.
The striker thumped in a first time shot past Latvia keeper to make it 5-0. More than the goal, the assist was one of those rare pieces of individual brilliance from Mats Hummels.

The Germans routed Latvia as Gosens, Gundoga, Mueller, Gnabry, Werner and Leroy Sane all scored for them to give them a much needed boost ahead of their tough Group games in the EURO 2020.
Germany will play France, Portugal and Hungary in the Group F in the EURO 2020 which starts from 11th June.
