WATCH: Philippe Coutinho scores Aston Villa’s equaliser against Man United on his debut
The Premier League king is indeed back and he has made his presence felt in the very first match on his return. Yes, Philippe Coutinho has made his debut for Aston Villa and what a way to do so. He provided an assist within 9 minutes of being subbed and scored a goal within the next 5 minutes – and that too when they were 2-0 down against Man United at home ! He couldn’t have had a better debut for sure.
Aston Villa took on Manchester Villa at Villa Park today in Gameweek 22 of the ongoing season. Despite being the better side for almost the entirety of the match, there were some moments where Villa looked sluggish and it was those opportunities that Manchester United capitalised and took a two goal lead. It was almost decided that the match was going in Man United’s way but that’s when Philippe Coutinho came in and changed the match completely.

Coutinho came in at the 68th minute mark and provided an assist in the 77th minute which was converted effortlessly by his teammate Jacob Ramsey. 5 minutes later, he added his name on the scoresheet by tapping in a pin perfect assist by Jacob Ramsey. It was these two players who completely changed the face of the game.
With this draw, Aston Villa have denied Man United the opportunity to climb up the table and they are still seated in 7th position. Things are not looking good for the Red Devils and they are getting farther away from the top 4 spot every single game week.
For Aston Villa on the other hand, it was a day to rejoice despite their defensive errors as the debut of Philippe Coutinho was unexpectedly awesome. Villa’s new signing has given them new hopes and Steven Gerrard will definitely use his former teammate to the fullest at his new club.
