WATCH: Wonder “Long Range” goals from Eduardo Camavinga and Luka Modric cap off sensational performance from Real Madrid
What a half of football Real Madrid displayed at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Sociedad. The Los Blancos did not have the best of starts to the encounter and fell behind inside the first 10 minutes of the half.
However, Eduardo Camavinga and Luka Modric scored twin wonder goals to ensure that Real Madrid go into the halftime interval with a lead and a much-deserved one in that.
Eduardo Camavinga and Luka Modric both scored their second goal of the season
Dani Carvajal was guilty of sluggish play inside the penalty box and his challenge on David Silva gifted Real Sociedad a penalty. Mikel Oyarzabal made no mistake and scored from the spot-kick to give his side a 1-0 lead.
Real Madrid, since conceding the goal, were largely the better side but found it hard to create direct goal-scoring chances for much of the half. They did not have to create much, as their French prodigy, Eduardo Camavinga, equalized from them with a sensational solo strike of his own, from about 30 yards out.
The 19-year old struck a fearsome shot with his left foot, to nestle the ball into the top right corner, giving Alex Remiro no chance in goal. Just when everyone thought, they had seen the best goal of the night, Luka Modric stepped up and showed everyone what he can do with a football at his feet.
The Croatian midfielder capitalised on Real Madrid’s attacking insurgence and scored a thunderous goal with his left foot. Karim Benzema and Carvajal combined to take a corner quickly and Modric found himself on the ball close to the penalty box.
The 36-year old dilly-dallied on the ball, got past David Silva to get an angle on goal, and launched a curling effort with his weaker foot, and the ball rocketed into the top left corner, once again leaving Alex Remiro rooted to the spot.
